“What limits can I lay upon God’s Son?”
You can’t lay any limits on source’s expressions. And when you try to do so, you feel miserable.
Today’s prayer starts like this:
Today let me give honor to Your Son, for thus alone I find the way to You. (W-pII.280.2:1, 2)
You honor someone when you know their worth. It is a mindset, a focus on the lovely and the pure, the wholesome and the joyful, so different in character from the mindset of finding fault and of criticism. It takes vigilance to navigate away from the monkey mind’s impulses. But you can do it. Honor the lovely: look for it, focus on it, celebrate it.
