ACIM Workbook lesson 218

Review: “I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”

198) “Only my condemnation injures me.”

Another person’s condemnation cannot touch you unless you allow it in. Allowing condemnation in happens when condemning thoughts are active in you. The two may not seem to be related. But the fact that you are experiencing it in an image in the world means that it has a message for you: It is showing you a quality that is active in your mind.

It may be tricky to let go of a condemnation active in your mind when you do not even have a clue as to what it is about. The good news is that you do not need to know. Simply do not take the appearance (of condemnation toward you) for face value and do not respond to it within the frame it is presented. Instead, lift your eyes and heart and offer the situation up to your inner guidance. Acknowledge that somehow you have an erroneous thought going on in your mind that you do no longer want and that you would like to release. That’s all.

This will set the situation as well as the people involved free from your projection. Nothing has happened, other than an erroneous thought projecting into a disturbing image that you now have recognized the dynamics of and released. The cause has dissolved and the effects will go with it.
