“I choose the joy of God instead of pain.”
It is a matter of focus: That what you dwell upon becomes your experience.
When you focus on the qualities of creation that you have within you, you will feel supported by the creative flow and you will see them reflected back to you from the outside. When you focus on pain or distress, they project outward into an image you see in the world, only this time you do not feel the support of the creative stream. The reason is that through your focus on the pain you have cut yourself off, temporarily, from experiencing the creative qualities in you.
By taking your mind off that which is distressing you, and refocusing on something – anything – good, lovely or beautiful, you open up a window inside through which love and beauty can come back into your experience.
