“There is no cruelty in God and none in me.”
There is no cruelty in anyone. There is only perceiving under the spell of a misunderstanding that cries for release. Responding within the framework of a misunderstanding solidifies it in your experience. That is why today’s text says:
“You make what you defend against, and by your own defense against it is it real and inescapable. Lay down your arms, and only then do you perceive it false.” (W-pI.170.2: 6,7)
The impression that you may have that many people subscribe to a perceived disturbance is a trick the misunderstanding is playing on you to make it more palatable. Even if a given misunderstanding seems to be ruling entire nations, it has not changed its character. The fact that you experience the misunderstanding now means that it is up for release now. Set the people you think are involved free, set the situation free, set yourself free – free from your own erroneous thinking. And then grace will gather all involved up in its embrace, and you will wake up to your true nature: Innocence, Willingness, Love and Joy in extending.
